Our seven-week phlebotomy technician program will teach you all of the skills required to be a successful entry-level phlebotomist. You will learn to safely and quickly draw blood from patients and proper specimen handling and labeling.
The phlebotomy technician program is a ten-twelve-week course with 300 hours of training, including 70 hours of classroom time, 70 hours of laboratory simulation, and 160 hours of externship. We cap all of our programs to 50 students maximum so that you will always have our highly experienced instructors available. After completing our program, you will be prepared to sit for the Certified Phlebotomy Technician exam.
A phlebotomist’s duties require someone who is both detail-oriented and able to work with patients of all ages. It is a fast-paced field with above-average growth and employment opportunities at a wide variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals, blood banks, and outpatient offices.

HPI’s phlebotomy technician program accepts a maximum of 20 students in each class. In addition to an interview with our admissions Director, applicants must meet the following criteria:
