Medical Assistant Bridge to Nursing Assistant Program Description

(MA to NAC/CNA) Medical Assistant Alternative Training Program MA's can take this bridge to CNA in 3 days for a total of 24 hours. After completing this course MA's will be able to take state exam.


Documentation verifying current MA National Certification is required prior to enrollment. 

- (AAMA or AMT or NHA or NCCT) 



REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 18 years old. 
  • Have a Valid Medical Assistant License from one of these accrediting bodies: AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, CAAHEP, ABHES
  • Must pass CELSA Test with 75% passing grade (if applicable). Test may be retaken, free of charge.
  • Current Medical Assistant Certificate or transcript from a school accredited by ABHES (the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools) or CAAHEP (the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs).
  • Must complete DSHS background check. You can fill the form for free here:   https://fortress.wa.gov/dshs/bcs/
  • Complete a background inquiry form. Any record of crimes against persons will prevent an individual from working in this field. You can order the form here:    WATCH Overview - Washington State Patrol  ($11)
  • Provide documentation of a completed two step tuberculosis test. If the results are positive a chest x-ray result must be provided. Must be within one year. 
  • Covid Vaccine Documentation
  • Royal Blue Scrubs
  • White Nursing Shoes
  • Blood Pressure Cuff and Stethoscope
  • Gait Belt
  • Watch with seconds.
  •  (Please Note: If possible, you can find your own Clinicals or if you are working at a assisting living faciality you can get it signed off with a Charge Nurse.)

Home Care Aide to Nursing Assistant Program Description

(HCA to NAC) Home Care Aide Alternative Training Program 
Home Care Aides can take this bridge to CNA in 3 days for a total of 24 hours. After completing this course HCA's will be able to take state exam. 


Students must have an active HCA license to enroll in this course.
