Medical Assistant Program Description
At Health Professionals Institute, we train new medical assistants to go above and beyond when providing direct patient care and performing administrative and clinical procedures.
While a medical assistant’s exact duties will vary depending on if they are in a clinic, physician’s office, or urgent care center, all HPI graduates come out of our program with a passion for helping patients and improving their communities.
Requirements:
- 18 years old or older
- Have a high school diploma, GED or Higher Education equivalency
- International students must pass the CELSA Test with a 75% passing grade (if applicable). Complete a background inquiry form. https://watch.wsp.wa.gov/WATCH/Home/Index Any record of crimes against persons or financial exploitation will prevent an individual from working in this field.
- Provide documentation of a completed two-steps tuberculosis test.
- Clinical facilities may require additional information, such as MMR and Hepatitis B vaccine
- Facilities also require Covid vaccine Documents.
Program Costs:
- Tuition: $17,000
- Registration fee: $100
- Book: All books must be purchased online information will be given after registration
- Assisting doctors and nurses during exams
- Recording patients’ medical histories
- Filing patient records
- Providing general care for patients
- Checking vital signs
A medical assistant is a vital team member in any clinic, hospital, or doctor’s office. You must be able to guide patients through their visits, complete physicians’ instructions, and even administer medication in some instances.
