Medical Assistant Program Description

At Health Professionals Institute, we train new medical assistants to go above and beyond when providing direct patient care and performing administrative and clinical procedures.

While a medical assistant’s exact duties will vary depending on if they are in a clinic, physician’s office, or urgent care center, all HPI graduates come out of our program with a passion for helping patients and improving their communities.

Requirements: 

• 18 years old or older
• Have a high school diploma, GED or Higher Education equivalency
• International students must pass the CELSA Test with a 75% passing grade (if applicable). Complete a background inquiry form. https://watch.wsp.wa.gov/WATCH/Home/Index Any record of crimes against persons or financial exploitation will prevent an individual from working in this field.
• Provide documentation of a completed two-steps tuberculosis test. 
• Clinical facilities may require additional information, such as MMR and Hepatitis B vaccine 
• Facilities also require Covid vaccine Documents.
