ECG Technician Program Description

Our six-week certification program prepares you for an entry-level position. Our instructors equip you with the training and tools to quickly excel and establish yourself as a vital member of the hospital, care facility, or doctor’s office in which you find a job.

Requirements: 

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Have a high school diploma, GED, or higher education equivalency 
  • U.S. students must pass the entrance exam with a 75% passing grade. 
  • International students must pass the CELSA Test with a 75% passing grade (if applicable). 
  • Complete a background inquiry form from https://watch.wsp.wa.gov/WATCH/Home/Index Any record of crimes against persons or financial exploitation will prevent an individual from working in this field.
  • Provide documentation of a completed two-steps tuberculosis test. If positive, must get a chest x-ray. 
  • If student unable to obtain Mantoux T.B test, the QuantiFeron blood test will be accepted.
  • Clinical facilities may require additional information, such as MMR and Hepatitis B vaccine.

An Electrocardiogram (ECG) Technician, also known as a cartographic technician or EKG technician, is vital in today’s healthcare industry. As an ECG technician, you are responsible for performing diagnostic tests related to patients’ heart rhythm and the electrical activity of a heartbeat. You will work directly with patients in a variety of circumstances.

Duties as an ECG technician include:

  • Attaching electrodes to patient's chest, arms, and legs
  • Performing electrocardiograms
  • Explaining procedures to patients
  • Monitoring patients' blood pressure 
  • Positioning patients

Dates: November 6th to December 22nd, 2023

Theory: Monday - Thursday

9:00 am- 2pm
